Gaining weight and pulling my head out of the toilet was the most political act I ever committed

I like this quote because it reminds me that as women every day we make political choices about how we look, how we dress, what we say, what profession we engage in, and even something as simple as what we eat or don’t eat. The personal is political. I say, live your life for you, your opinion is the one that matters the most.
To be whole, let yourself break.
To be straight, let yourself bend.
To be full, let yourself be empty.
To be new, let yourself wear out.
To have everything, give everything up.Knowing others is a kind of knowledge;
knowing yourself is wisdom.
Conquering others requires strength;
conquering yourself is true power.
To realize that you have enough is true wealth.
Pushing ahead may succeed,

To me, this says flexibility is something to be valued and that things aren’t always what they seem. What does this quote say to you?
